Hydrology and Stormwater Management Consultants

Surface Water Analysis and Management from hydrologic experts and water infrastructure engineers

Water is one of our most precious “at risk” commodities. Nearly all of California’s watersheds, lakes, and streams have been degraded to some extent by past and ongoing human activities. Due to this, watershed restoration activities are becoming more important and will involve increased use of stormwater capture, recycled water recharge, and treatment of degraded groundwater to restore water supplies and sustain habitat for native fish, amphibians and benthic communities, and avian species. Our hydrogeologists, hydrologists, and engineers provide surface water and stormwater hydrology and hydraulic analysis to support infrastructure management and control and facility expansion design. Our approach to surface water and stormwater infrastructure planning, design and management integrates source control, conveyance control, low-impact development techniques, and quality enhancements to provide protection of beneficial water resources.

Planning/Design/Feasibility

We are experts in applying stormwater hydrology methods to collect the data and make the studies that will inform a watershed restoration plan, as well as a stormwater management plan that will ensure the safe management of surface water. Projects involving stormwater infrastructure and design can be studied and supported with our services, ensuring control and efficiency of its success.

We analyze and take a closer look at existing surface water management projects and designs. Fitting into the variables of natural water behaviors, taking into account habitats for marine aquatic life and ecosystems, and integrating geotechnical engineering practices and scientific understanding to bring true insight into the steps necessary to conserve water resources.

As hydrogeological consultants, we offer support in flood risk management, drainage, and water quality studies. With our expert team of hydrologists and hydrogeologists, we can attend to challenges to deliver solutions supported by experience and insight, bringing the scientific tools that will ensure both protection of people and assets as well as compliance with regulatory demands from various agencies that control project permits around the US.

For the control of soil erosion from water influence, many methods can be applied, included but not limited to vegetation aggregates and landscaping, aggregates, and concrete hard armor in more extreme cases. These frictional resistance methods are applied to ensure the mitigation of erosion effects. Added to this, drainage methods can be added to slope formation to manage the flow of water, thus modifying the water cause in slopes and preventing many of these effects.

Needed analysis for irrigation control efforts can determine what the optimal use of water resources can be applied in a determined area of land. Studies on the flow of water on developing landscapes and their effect under the flow of water, whether by designed or by natural flow and drainage is taken into account and analyzed when land irrigation is performed, incorporating hydrogeological studies to determine how the soil responds to this flow, determining the ratio of absorption and underground water flow.

Managing the absorption of water in soils through the creation of stormwater systems and other solutions that manage infiltration and seepage scenarios requires the expertise of those familiar with the interaction of water and soil, their structural formation, and their behavior.

The assistance of hydrological consultants is required when engaging in projects that seek to control or establish structures that interact with stormwater systems. With our service as Hydrological consultants we are able to contribute our scientific understanding and experience on the correct assessment and solutions for the safe and seamless management of stormwater management systems.

Constructions Services

Hydrological experts who know about stormwater, channeling, pond structural management and modifications are able to collect and study the data regarding the development of hydrological projects such as dams, canals, irrigations, among others. This expertise permits a well-supported base of knowledge that will allow us to manage the quality control and design of these projects for their successful completion.

With our experience, insight and scientific understanding, provide the necessary insight to see hydrological projects through and to draw up solutions for any problems that arise involving hydrological assets and elements therein that interact with surface water from a scientific standpoint. With our extensive background, we’ve gained a careful methodology and understanding that allows us to see this through.

Through stormwater ponds and retention structures, watershed infiltration and absorption into the land is avoided and managed when artificial watersheds are to be maintained or when stormwater management efforts require these retention ponds to be constructed. We provide the necessary analysis on the structural integrity of these ponds, maintaining a faithful database and professional support role in our hydrological consultant roles.
