Avoid Natural Ground Hazards and capital loss through our Geological Risk Assessments

Engineering geology essentially refers to the application of engineering principles and methodologies to solving and adressing considerations of a geologic nature. Some areas of focus are actual geology, the nature and behavior of rock and soil materials as they occur in natural ground, and the relationship that those rocks and geologic materials may have on development and human processes.

Seismology is the study of the behavior of earthquakes and the transmission of energy waves through the ground as a result of those earthquakes. In particular, it’s looking at the nature of high ground acceleration that’s developed by offsets on faults, Seismology looks at the transmission of that energy through surrounding rocks, soil, and fill materials and essentially what happens to anything that is built over those materials. It goes hand in hand with engineering geology in the evaluation of seismological type geological hazards that are present in the environment. These can include land sliding, flash floods, mudflows, debris flows, quick ground, soft ground adverse seepage, and a whole variety of different issues that cna be difficult to address.

With regard to seismology, there are two major factors we look at. First, we interpret the development of seismic response spectra for particular sites. This allows us to estimate the risks of seismic effects on debelopment and to interpret after the fact what occured during an earthquake. Second, we examine the generation of a variety of different sesmologic hazards such as ground cracking, liquefaction, and other related changes to the earth

Planning/Design/Feasibility

As part of our geoscience consulting services, we assess the necessary steps for a comprehensive study of the soil and its characters, noting any elements that may be relevant to the need brought forth and applying a scientific approach to the desk work of analysis and planning to be performed.

We are able to bring solutions that adress any challenge put foward and cover all factors both in the present and the future. As such, we draw up plans and back up our work with a detailed analysis and report of our finding and estimations, facilitating a clear perspective on the soil and rock behavior, materials necessary, geological hazards and ground response to developments.

Within our geoscience support services, we take a look at any existing plans or designs that relate to geological factors and/or development and apply the same methodology to expand its understanding and test our hypothesis so as to confirm or disprove the feasibility of any existing geological estimations or desings made by other agents, including geoscience companies

Soil and rock mechanics are pertinent to how applied physics apply to solis and their different behaviors. They give a practical basis to determine how solid and fluid materials interact in the subsurface, whether they are naturally occuring of man-made. This is especially relevant for foundation supports and the building of buried structures.

Stratigraphy works as a scientific resource that allows to find the layered history of rock and sedimentation formations to determine the history and composition of an area. When performing soil and rock studies, statrigraphy studies help determine the composition and history of underground rock formation as well as their make up of materials.

Foundation embedment refers to the achoring of a structure within an underground concrete foundation. These structures which support a foundation can be built as a reinforced underground wall or blog, and, depending on the structure itself, is made to a specific weight.

We provide the necessary solutions to study and determine the most optimal conditions and parameters to determine how a foundation embedment process should proceed, as well as the geological factors that interact with such a process and its evolution

Slope Rockfall Net controls serve as protection measures against rock datachment on slopres and inclines. These focus on containing and/or intercepting the failing of debris without making specific changes in the structure itself and thus avoiding personal and property damage.

When performing a rockfall net control project, an extensive analysis must be performed, where predictive models can stipulate how these structures can be supported and the type of netting that will need to be applied. We provide consultancy and solutions to completing such tasks with the utmost efficiency and quality.

Trenching works coul have different purproses. They are used for placing structures such as pipelines or communications, as placed as search trenhes to locate such pipeline structures of unknown locations, or as foundations support or embankment placement.

These works require a professional eye to solve and perform efficiently when one is working within rock and land. We provide expert consultant support on these endeavors, as well as any other underground constructions effort where the soil and underground rock must be taken into account and modified in one way or another.

Geotechnical Assessment is the first step in land project and construction endeavors. It consists of evaluating and classifying the soil below the surface so that accurate calculations on foundations and other geological developments are performed.

Our G3 Soilworks experts provide a much clearer picture of what soil you’ll be working with and provide accurate predictions on its behavior during and after the project’s development and conclusion.

Our geotech expert team covers soil mechanics, which is the assessment of soil performance through observing soil composition, strength, consolidation and other characteristics dictated by our measuring methods.

When undertaking a construction or development project, foundations are a primary concern. Depending on the soil characteristics and the type of structure that would support a specific weight, steps in foundation analysis must be taken with proficient geotech engineering knowledge and testing expertise.

Among these steps, the type and total weight of the load to be supported must be calculated to then perform the necessary subsurface studies and tests that will provide data on soil features. This methodology of field testing and desk work allows an ideal design for foundation analysis, provided for both the project’s safe undertaking and for on-budget realization.

Construction Services

Our team of geotechnical consultants can take over the quality control end of the design and construction efforts of your projects. With the G3 team’s expertise and experience, they are able to see through all aspects of design and development efficiently and safely.

We provide geotechnical solutions that can be applied effectively no matter the situation on the ground. With our expertise in geotech solutions, we have become known for providing a better approach than most geotechnical engineering firms.

As geotechnical engineering professionals, we focus on the scientific study of data without jumping any steps in finding the right solutions to every situation. The projects we’ve worked on are a testament to our method, and as such we feel confident our geotechnical engineering methodology is superior.

We provide soil and rock testing both on the field and in laboratory testing. Using different samples to determine the soil’s properties and using a variety of methods for their extraction and delivery, we are capable of running a full spectrum of tests that will stay in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Our team is experienced in providing an impartial review on any 3rd party study or geotechnical assessment through our perspective and ethical guidance. With our methodology, we’ll be able to provide trustworthy insight into any development or study you have come across.
